The 28-105mm is definitely a good choice if you're looking for something more compact to take with you on trips.

I have both of those lenses but the 28-105 gets far more use. I am hiking a lot with the camera so the extra reach and weight tip me to the 28-105 most of the time. Outside f2.8 is rarely needed. Both are fine lenses, though.

I can believe how good the DFA28-105 is. I do not have the K1 yet but when Amazon had them for $340 I grabbed one anyway. This way I have a decent lens for the K1 already.
