Posted By: Adam, 05-30-2017, 11:42 AM

The Rokinon 20mm F1.8 is currently $170 off at Adorama, for a final price of $429 (reg $599). Really nice deal!

been debating between this and a Irix 15mm...

Seen great sample from this lens for night shots though.

I'm surprised I don't see more feedback on this lens here. Seems to solve a big issue for k-mount full-frame wide lens selection.

It isn't an incredibly wide focal length... so that might be why. Though I am still interested in the reviews of those who have bought it.

This review had me thinking of getting one. Sharp at f1.8 couple with K1 will be great for starry night shots (f1.8 + high iso + LV = no more guessing framing).
and of course, a wilder lens is Irix 15mm at f2.4.

very tempting.

This is definitely a compelling FL for full frame. I think we'll have to do an in depth review!

20mm on full frame is 7 degrees wider on the horizontal than the DA15 is on crop. Seems pretty wide to me... I wouldn't bother with it on crop as it seems kind of too in-between something wide like a 15 or 14mm prime or a normal like 24 or 28. On full it sounds excellent!

It is around a 13mm equiv from crop. If you like that FoV then it will be great, but some of us appreciate wider options.

Each mm on the wide end is rather noticeable..

The thing this lens has going for it is it accepts 77mm threaded filters.

How big is this thing? Is it some monster of a lens? I owned the 85mm before and that thing was pretty big. I am wondering if this lens is of the same caliber and build quality as the 85mm.

FYI that 85mm was sharp as all get out. It was an excellent lens but the build quality wasn't so hot.

Looking at pictures of it online, it doesn't appear to have a stop-down lever. That... isn't a turn-on. The Sy 85 I didn't think was as big a deal because it's probably used at f2.8 for faster 90% of the time. But a wide lens like this one where f8 is probably going to be used often?

That's a great deal on a good lens. I really like its FL, handling and build. It comes in smaller than the 24/1.4. I also have the 14mm and it's too distorted on FF, and in a mustachioed way. It could really use DOF marks, though.
