I never had this lens, but with the quiet AF and WR along with the newer Pentax technology it looks like it would do a nice job for someone that was looking to cover the 55-300 range.

Yup, it's the fastest-focusing lens in the current Pentax lineup. Very very nice.

At this price I'd buy it at B&H over saving $3 at the Pentax site and waiting an eternity to get it
