Sigma 12-24mm EX DG (Refurb) at Adorama for $249.95
Posted By: Quicksand, 07-31-2017, 02:49 PM

Yes, this is full-frame compatible, and it would be really hard to beat this price for ANY full-frame ultrawide, even used. Refurbished with 90 day Sigma warranty.

I just placed my order!

That lens is a really nice rectilinear UWA. It's very good on APS-C and it's frighteningly wide on a K-1. My copy (bought new a long time ago) is a bit soft at 24 but I still like it a lot.

Have fun!

Thanks @Quicksand.
Could use this until I save up for the 15-30. Don't believe if I will ever use the 2.8 on the 15-30 any way. I can't even imagine using f5.6 on this one for that matter. So this lens is good for me for now (or may be for a long time to come)

Yes, definitely! I bought one for $399 when Sigma finally shut the door on production for this one, and thought I got it at an absolute steal. It performs very well on the K-1.

If I didn't have one already, I would have leaped to buy it at this price.

I'm glad to hear the positive experiences with this lens -- I needed SOMETHING wide for my K-1 and was doing some shopping around looking at the various alternatives and getting discouraged. Then this popped up in my search results and I had to jump at it.

Hopefully this will hold me over until I can pick up the D-FA 18mm WR Ltd*.

* Yeah, I know.

What a deal!

That's an EXCELLENT lens. I paid double for my sued one, but it's paid for itself through real estate work. It has less barrel distortion than other UWA zooms. There's light falloff at the corners, but it's quite correctable. Any improvement on this comes at a hefty cost in price or weight.

Good old screw drive. No HSM .. so potentially this will last as long as the K-1 AF motor lasts unless I dunk it water or drop it on a rock.

Yeah, I've just ordered one. I guess I should have just bought the 15-30, I've been putting it off by buying all these alternatives ...

I just bought an Irix 15mm. How would this compare? The short focusing distance, zoom range and AF are a plus.

Two very different lenses.

You could happily own both.

On a better note, received the lens the day after I ordered, and not even expedited shipping. Wow!
Sorry about the troubles you're having (at least it still says "in stock and ready to ship" so hopefully you'll get it straightened out soon enough).

But dang, I ordered on Monday and I'm not supposed to get it until Friday (UPS Ground, really?). And that was before UPS bungled the sorting and put it into delay status. Argh. So maybe I'll have it next week.

This is Adorama's "free expedited shipping." Remind me not to get their regular shipping!

Arghhh... same here. Delayed by a day. I am really hoping it comes here tomorrow.

Well, I got mine, and unfortunately, I fell victim to Sigma's lack of quality control. Lens sometimes communicates with the camera, other times doesn't.

Hey dcshooter, did you happen to record the serial number? I've ordered one & I hope I don't get your return.
