That is a good deal! I have this printer, and I love it. I can't remember though, does it come with full ink cartridges, or are they starter cartridges? If they are full, then that makes buying the whole thing cheaper than buying a set of ink!

I think they are just starter cartridges. It is still a very nice deal.

Sweet deal but the foot print on that thing is huge. I've been looking for a place to put it in our new home and no luck. InkProducts offers a refill kit for it with 8 60 ml bottles of all the colors plus two sets of cartridges with COC chips for $109.88

I can't say for sure, but I've done about a dozen full-page prints on mine and it's still going strong!

I had mine shipped to my office on the last deal - it is a beast to fit in a small car. Had to bring the Accord the next day and wedge it into the trunk.

You get full sized ink cartridges with the Pro100. At least that's my experience.

The rebate comes in the form of an American Express gift card. I used mine for groceries at Walmart.

Specials like this don't last long, so if you're interested I'd suggest you act quickly.

How expensive are the cartridges.. or is someone into the cleaning up, resetting and refilling already and how hard is that?

Ink that comes with the printer are full sized ink cartridges. It costs roughly $110, +/- $10 on Amazon consistently for a pack replacement ink (8 different color cartridges).

If you want to refill the cartridges, Precision Colors -- Precision Colors Home Page -- has what you need, including instructions on refilling, making the whole process rather inexpensive. Non-Canon inks, however, don't have anywhere near the longevity you'll get from OEM inks. Also, you can't mix the Precision Colors yellow ink with Canon ink as it will gel and clog the print head, but the other colors are OK to mix. There are some good videos on youtube regarding refilling.

Canon often has deals on paper, like buy one and get two free, or four free, and they've also have deals where you buy ink and get paper free, all of which make for relatively inexpensive printing. I believe Canon gives you a half-off coupon for purchasing paper when you register the printer with them.

The $79 deal is over. The price is back to $129 after rebate.
