What happened to this lens fa* 250-600

I am totally shocked by the condition of this. How can this be.

That's my vote. The original owner's SO realised that he or she was about to be photographed in flagrante delicto with an alternate SO and went postal.

Either that or the lens wasn't properly mounted on the tripod and fell onto some rocks.

Does seem as though the price has been inflated greatly. How many of these were produced in total?

Unsure how many were produced. They are rare though. The going price for these is north of US$7000 depending on condition and a touch of luck.

Well, it looks like an "more used than good for it" copy of an legendary lens.

1310€ isn't much for an optically working lens, but the condition makes everyone wonder about how to treat an $10254 lens...

I like how the description states that it has "medium dust inclusions." Deal breaker!
