This is $250 below their normal price. This is beyond plausibly cheap for a really fantastic budget zoom lens.

Though I don't need one, I'm having a hard time not buying.

And it was the next week, but at the very end of it - Friday at 5:00pm.
I immediately went down to the wharf and took a few shots to check it out. It replaces the DAL50-200 and already feels better and performs better than that lens given against the light shooting at full wide and full stretch.

Straight out of camera only resized. K3 DA55-300

Just to give a heads up! Although not as low as the $146.00 that it was back in March B&H has this lens on sale again for $299.00!

Although not as quiet as a "PLM" still works fine on some of the newer bodies too, I am using it on a K-70, not as fast as the plm lens but for the price some may be interested.

I hesitated and didnt buy this one because of the 70-300 I already have and dont use much. Maybe I should have purchased it the price was a no brainer even with European VAT on top

I got rid of mine, not because of any problem, but I had obtained the HD Pentax-D FA* 70-200mm F2.8 ED DC AW and was picking up an " experienced " SMC Pentax-DA* 300mm F4 ED [IF] SDM

I got the good deal on this lens as well, never even got the chance to try it out because someone broke into my house and stole it along with my K3 and grip. luckily I had homeowners insurance and they covered it all along with all the other items they stole from my house, due to the fact that they no longer had the deal on the lens, the insurance company wanted to know how much it would cost to replace the lens regardless of what I paid for it, ( I even called an agent and talked this out with them) I told them off the top of my head it would be around $350~400. they didnt even bat an eye at it and reimbursed me $400 (as long as I provided a reciept) I went and got the PLM for $335 (Amazon prime shipping and everything)
so I kind of look at it that I technically got the PLM for $150 seeing as it was a replacement for the lens that cost me $149....win win, so glad I had insurance......
PS: this PLM lens is way quieter and faster than the screw drive version, actually the fastest and quietest lens of Pentax I ever used

Apart from testing when it fist arrived I had not really used the lens much but had to do a two day sports carnival for work. About 650 pictures each day with misty rain on both days. All taken with this lens. Pre-focus on a spot, high jump crossbar, sand pit, etc and it works well. Pentax does sports very well. And in the rain.
