Nice acquisition.

I just had my wife's K1000 serviced by Eric.

Less expensive than a K-1ll also. I suspect this one will travel to Tennessee fairly soon.

I actually don't have a K1000. I figured a Japan body was worth adding and the K55/2 will come in handy.

Kinda chilly to be camping in your part of the woods isnít it? (Doesnít affect a manual film camera, of course),
I know many prefer match-needle metering, but I've always preferred center-needle; I'm much faster centering the needle and it comes easier for me.

We camp throughout March to November. Right now we're camping on an island (with spotty cell service) so the wind and water makes it a bit cooler. It was near 60 degrees Sunday when we arrived, but yesterday and today have been really cold. We even turned the heater on in the camper, but the cool weather was perfect for the long hike today. Tomorrow and Thursday should be warm again.

M42 on K mount film body

The 55/2 is super common with M42 mount, though. Is it a pain to shoot M42 on a Kmount film camera?
Pain is relative. There are some drawbacks, like a dim viewfinder, unless you manipulate the switch on the lens to compose and then stop down to meter. I have an ME with adapter that I use Taks on. It's a compact walk around camera.
