Since he is a member here, I wonder if he had it for sale in the forums? I have the Series 1 28-105 with the Macro at the wide end but it is a pretty nice piece of vintage glass.

KA mount to boot! If I didn't have two Lester Dines I'd be tempted to dive on this.

I bought several of these NIB on eBay from a San Francisco Dealer in 2004. He had bought the remaining stock from Vivitar in 1999 and had 12 available at $499 OBO. $388 seemed to be his clearing price. After (IIRC) my fifth purchase over a couple weeks he contacted me and asked me what was up. I called the store and we chatted, but he cut me off - BIN price or nothing. I was reselling them for $475 at a camera club here

The price sure has declined. For a long time $400 was the price here, with box or without. I still have one of those original lenses.

A spate of bloggers extolling the virtues of this lens drove up the prices. I guess a lot of people just wanted the bragging rights of ownership. I never thought it was worth more than $250 USD mint in box. I paid less than $150 each for both of my Lester Dines (KA mount) along with the Yuzo ringflash. One was the near complete kit with case, lens, caps, ring flash and MZ-50 body. Don't get me worng, this is a fine lens and is probably one of the best lens ever made by Kino Precision. They just aren't that hard to find

Mine is still in the marketplace for less than that. No box or case, but you cannot take pictures with those anyways

I'm guessing that's not a macro lens on that thing! Wide angle pinhole?

Yup the jig is up. Your lens is replaced by pumpkin flesh.
