In case anyone's interested, I noticed that there's a transparent version of the F 35-70mm lens listed on eBay:

Pentax SMC AF 35-70mm f3.5-4.5 Transparent Model (item 282838517342)

It has some condition issues (e.g. I see a couple of chips on the zoom ring). Asking price is $770(!), though there is a "Make Offer" link. (I have no connection with the seller.)

A little rich for me, but still really cool. It 'appears' to be the same lens (see mark across the 35-70) as the one Adam posted a photo of in the link Did Pentax really make a clear lens? - PentaxForums.com.

Does anybody know of any pictures available online that have been taken with this lens? I would be quite curious to see, although I doubt that it will be of much use as a photographic tool. I have actually seen the transparent body/lens combo behind glass at a camera museum in Melbourne, Australia.

Although they do work those bodies and lenses are intended for display purposes.

If you were going to try to sell the lens for $ 770, seems like you could test the lens for function (AF). I'll stick with my $ 50 regular copy
