Posted By: UncleVanya, 08-09-2018, 01:23 PM

Pentax Super Telephoto 800mm f/4 Takumar Lens for Pentax 67

You could buy a car for this money but these are rarer than hen's teeth in this condition.

Yep Adorama have had that lens for years and will never sell it. I have seen pictures of it on display in the store and it's massive.

LOL - The albatross of lenses then?
But wouldn't it have been fun to use during the solar eclipse with a nice solar filter and an adapter onto a 645Z?

Yeah I'd love to try it out on my 67ii, but you'll need two big tripods to use it. (one for the camera end as well)

I have it's smaller brother the 6x7 600/4 and that's enough of a headache to use.

You would probably still need support on the camera end or there will be vibrations. So either a second tripod or something like the Manfrotto 359 Long Lens Support. I use that with my 6x7 600/4.

Really surprised to see it on the sidewalk like that - just seems vulnerable to an accident.

With a 6x7 to K adapter, this lens could be fun on a K-1. A nice test for the K-1's shake reduction.

Also with an adapter, wouldn't that make it a 1200mm f2.8 equivalent lens or something?
