2 Pack 128GB Lexar cards on sale
Posted By: Bob 256, 10-06-2018, 03:59 PM

I just happen to notice that Walmart is selling 128GB 2-packs for $84US which is a pretty good price considering what they go for elsewhere. I've used these cards with my K-1 without any issues. Don't know how long the sale will last - you need to input a physical address or the site will come up with a message - out of stock. I retried with my physical address included and the purchase went through.

one note - please take a look at the vendor; it's not Walmart, but another seller... much like Amazon's Marketplace, Walmart allows other vendors to sell under their 'umbrella', so if you have an issue with the cards, you won't be dealing with Walmart's generous return/refund policy....

Not a bad deal at all! They sell for much more on Amazon and other sites. Good find!

But these are backed by Walmart - no way??????

Will take a close look when I get mine and compare them to the real ones I have now. Amazon was selling single cards for about $40 a piece last week so could be Lexar is trying to move stock for the newer offerings. Thanks for that warning however.

Wouldn't that make 2 packs $80?

Update: Today, Walmart canceled my order due to "technical issues processing it which will be fixed shortly". From that, I gather that the original offer was bogus, and they won't honor the price they listed. In any case, I replied that I would hope to have my order filled at some future point in time at the same price when the system is working again (dreaming on as they say).

In any case, don't waste your time checking this one out - I'll let you know if they ever "get their system fixed".

And reh321, I said "about". I think they were $43 each or so (which would make a two pack $86) - can't remember, but I did check the two packs on Amazon and they were considerably more than two at the lower price (over $100). Sorry I didn't go for that one, but I think the trend is downwards in SD card prices so will keep an eye on them for other good buys.

UPDATE AGAIN:
I just checked Amazon and they're offering their 64GB Lexar x633 Pro cards for $20US a pop (Amazon Prime). Two of those come in at $40 and give 128GB worth of storage, so I sent for 4 of them. Interestingly, a 2 pack is $64US, $24 more than ordering individual cards. In any case, I'm happy.

In one sense 64GB has an advantage over 128GB in that if a card goes bad, you don't lose 128GB worth of data, though you do end up handling more cards and the 64GB fill up faster (relatively speaking).

Go cry on this one Walmart

Lexar does sell some pretty crappy cards. One notable Lexar Pro 32GB 633x 95MB/s card has all the proper markings and packaging, but is just a plain garbage card... with maximum real world xfer rates of 5-10MB/s. They have been stable and full expected capacity, just very, very, very slow.

Do some speed tests and see if you got what you paid for, or if it was actually a deal.
I've been lucky on a few sale purchases. This one was just Lexar showing their lack of courtesy for their customers.

If it's really 5-10MB/s, you more than likely have a fake card. Where did you buy it from ?

Third party vendors are not "backed by Wal-mart".

I hope you didn't take my original comment seriously!!!

In any case, the Walmart internet site reneged on the offer, and I ended up buying 4 64GB cards (same specs) from Amazon at $20 per card ($40 per 128GB). It came as no surprise that they didn't honor the offer, and it did surprise me that they even had these cards listed.
