Got myself a KP body - my current gear is K5 / K30 era so I've got a steep learning curve ahead I think.

I want a KP. I would miss the top LCD but the performance is wonderful. It also looks the business

With the discount apparently already applied, how do I know how much the price has dropped by?

Click on any item, it will take you to a page for that item where you can see the discount price and the price before the discount.

I'd cross-reference the prices at Digidirect too: digiDIRECT cameras & imaging Everything photographic & more They're also advertising a 15% discount sale but theirs goes through to 31 December. Comparing prices for the most part shows the Pentax Australia prices are better. For example, the discount price for the DA 560mm at Digidirect is AU$5,599, the price at Pentax Oz is AU$5,099.

The KP from the Pentax website with the current offer is $850, most other places I've checked have it at $1,300 or more. Even DCXpert's price is $1,399.It was too good a price to pass up IMO.

Wow, that's a great saving, no wonder you pulled the pin on it.

Hope you enjoy getting out and about with your new KP mate.

Ah. I swear it wasn't like that yesterday - only the discounted price was shown. Thanks!

Cheers Tas. While I was doing my research about the KP I was wondering if it was too much camera (and too advanced) for my skill level given that I only "graduated" from a K30 to a K5 about a year ago, but it seems to be a well-regarded camera at a price that was too hard to pass up.

You'll quickly find that although the KP may be more capable than you'll push it to go, you will grow into it - and be surprised how quickly you will do so.
Soon enough you'll find the added bonuses of quick response and nifty features will be serendipitously beneficial to you in your shooting circumstances.

Pentax Australia also has 40% of Lowepro bags if you are after a new bag. They are way below BHPHoto at the moment so definitely worth a look.

Just tried to find them - they're on CRK's website but the first thing I found under "bags" were $800-$900 duffle bags!

I should have mentioned that. Yes, the bags are on CR Kenndey's general website, not the Pentax website.
