once a week i check the price on this lens... down to $2861 now

($3999 at bh and adorama)

Hmm, when this deal was originally posted, there were 2 in stock, then 1 was sold and the price went up. Now there are 2 in stock again, and the price went back down. Perhaps the buyer changed his mind and cancelled his order.

Amazing price really, and Amazon tells me it's just $150/mo for 18 months. For a moment I thought about it but TBH even my *300 isn't used all that much. I'll wait for the new Pentax APS-c

If I had a go-to spot where I could reliably find wildlife, it would be incredibly difficult to resist this lens. But for my needs, my collection of old glass from 300 to 600mm is already too much.

The pictures that have been posted from this lens are excellent but I wonder if it is significantly better than the 150-450? I have owned a couple of those and loved them. Maybe it is a more comfortable size. Anyone know?

SInce I looked at it and the 150-450 multiple times, Amazon sent me an email with the new current price as of Thursday 10/17 of $3,028.48. Just a bit more than before. One in stock now.
