Half the states (including NJ) require vendors to collect sales tax on Internet purchases, even if there is no physical presence in the state where the buyer resides. Interestingly, though, I (NJ resident) recently purchased a lens from Lens Authority (TN) but was not charged sales tax. Perhaps they didn't get the memo...  | |
