Fortunately, I've always had good luck with Amazon returns, even with my warehouse purchases. That is a really vague description though. I mean, a 1" hole in the lens, for example, would be much more than a 2" scratch on the hood. A little scary...

It looks like a boiler plate description, as it talks about "Cosmetic imperfections, bigger than 1", on front of the camera body". If it's a scratch on the lens body not necessarily a problem but if it's on the front element, that's another story. Amazons return policy is usually pretty good though.

If I was in the market I'd go for it. As mentioned, returns are straight forward with Amazon.

I saw that yesterday and almost clicked it. Looking for FF compatible longer Focal lengths, and without going into multiple thousands of dollars in debt, this is as good as it gets!

I seriously considered buying it just to compare with my current old teles, then returning it.

But I'm kind of afraid that I'd like it too much, and keep it.

This is an excellent lens priced 1000 USD less than what was listed price for years.

You know, this is encouraging despite the crazy low price. Sometime it seems that we are the only ones buying Pentax equipment but there is still clearly a market.

We will have to see if it gets relisted again in a week or so. If so, it may not have not been such a good deal and returned for a reason.

I will definitely put it in the database if it is bad. Check this weekend in the new acquisitions thread and I will post images from the place I am going for the holidays. My camera backpack is already heavy as all get out!

Yay SSGGeezer! I'm happy you bought it. Can't believe it made it <$1,200. Hopefully the defect is liveable.

Glad to see it was picked up by a forum member. Hopefully everything works out and you have a real bargain. Take care of your back with all that added weight.
