Great deal on a very nice Sigma Art lens:

This lens has a lot to answer for. The whole hyper-corrected, huge, heavy lens trend kicked off with this. It's the opposite of a Limited prime and because it's extremely sharp if you nail focus it demands good autofocus performance which led to this autofocus arms race of recent years that has been difficult for Pentax.

To balance whatever disparaging comments might be made about the lens and/or the ability of Pentax cameras to meet the challenge, the Sigma 35/1.4 | A has a strong positive reputation among actual owners on this site and is considered well-matched to recent-model flagship and near-flagship models.

I’m not disputing its excellence, and I would shoot with it if I had one. I’m just not a huge fan of what it represents.

I have no idea what you mean by "represents".
It can make a lovely image though.

I’m just grumbling. This piece is a bit more objective.

I really like the 3-D rendering of the lady in the second picture.

It would appear that you even managed to nail focus. Amazing!

Maybe it is worth adding to thread title that we speak about Art version

I wasn't able to figure out how to edit the title, but I did add the word "Art" in the text of my post. Thanks for the recommendation.

This is another Sigma lens I want to own. I own the older 85/1.4 and absolutely love it. I came across this 35/1.4 version for under $500 once, used, but in immaculate condition. I didn't have the funds available at the time. It is one of the few lenses that I regret walking away from as it was such a good deal.

I have this lens on a Canon mount and is without doubt the favourite of my five Canon lenses. Yes it is heavy and its about 4 times the size and weight of my Pentax K35 f/3.5 (which is probably the favourite of my Pentax lenses) but the image quality is fantastic IMHO.
