Have been watching Amazon UK the past few days slowly reduce the price of the black and silver KP, the silver has gone from £949 to £649 then steadily dropped over the past 48hrs to £578.91, the black is £699. Just wondering what they are doing with the silver version and as it's lowest it's been in the UK it may be time to bite the bullet and get one.

For any UK people here's the link :

Typical......I buy it at the above price and it drops to £571.85

Now down to £547.95

The silver KP went up to £949 last week and has stayed there, the black one has dropped as low as £526 but then shot up to £779, it has since fluctuated between £550 and £600. As of now 19.21 GMT it is at £638.....who knows what Amazon will do with it next.
Prices are still jumping around. Once you know it can dip below £500 you are unlikely to buy it at higher prices.

I bought it last weekend for £541, playing with it right now.
I'd been waiting for more than month but the price never went below 530 again. But there was a good exchange rate GBP/EUR last week, so I got it even cheaper than I planned to spend.

I have realized I would like to have a KP with K1-like ergonomics. That is a K-new. But I think it will cost around 1.000 €, maybe more. Now the question is, jump on an offer like the present ones, or wait?

The KP is an amazing camera. My gut feeling is that given the economic catastrophe that seems to be unfolding around us, Ricoh might delay the release of the K-new (why would you release a new camera when no-one has a job or any money to buy it?). But...........that is just my own thoughts about what might happen and I have only personal speculation and absolutely no evidence to back it up.

So personally..........I'd buy a KP.

Are non UK residents allowed to buy at those rates? How can I check that on Amazon site?
Do you have any trans shipment company or service available in your place, such as tenso, hopshopgo etc? If not, i think amazon sells globally. I just noticed that if choosing AmazonPriority shipping to ship to my home directly, no sales tax will be levied and the total cost is even lower.

Did any of you folks who bought the KP from Amazon have any difficulties registering the warranty?

And to answer my own question after buying one on Amazon, I contacted Ricoh about it, who said, proof of purchase is all you need, so print it out and stick it in the box!
