I have both lenses. The modern DFA 100WR is better from f2.8 to f8, is much lighter and has WR. The Kiron (mine is the KA mount version) matches sharpness from f8 to F22 and has less chromatic aberrations, especially from metals and chrome. The Kiron is also easier to precisely focus using live view because of its large amount of focusing rotation. Another plus for the classic 105/2.8, an aperture ring so you can use extensions and bellows.
