Got order in on 12/6, also waiting for ship notice. Was on my short list of lenses, very happy with price.

got notified that Amazon finally shipped mine which was ordered on Dec 6

but changed expected delivery date

to a day earlier - Monday instead of Tuesday

It has AF and WR so if those things are important for you, then yes. Otherwise the difference will be reelatively small regarding IQ.

I have both lenses. The modern DFA 100WR is better from f2.8 to f8, is much lighter and has WR. The Kiron (mine is the KA mount version) matches sharpness from f8 to F22 and has less chromatic aberrations, especially from metals and chrome. The Kiron is also easier to precisely focus using live view because of its large amount of focusing rotation. Another plus for the classic 105/2.8, an aperture ring so you can use extensions and bellows.
