I've never seen such a lens and didn't know that it even existed. Unfortunately (for me), this is out of my price range. Thought I might share it here on the Forum in case anyone else might be interested.

Very rare Tamron SP 300mm F2.8 LD IF - 60EP Autofocus for Pentax | eBay

No, I'm not the seller - I'm just intrigued and wanted to share. If this is a no-no in this Forum, please let me know!

I'm pretty sure our very own @normhead owns one... A nice chunk of glass, and no mistake.

...and he's captured some darn impressive photos with it, including several with a Pentax 1.7TC attached. Lucky dog!

I paid $1600 CDN for mine, the most recent purchase that I know of was $2000 U.S. I doubt it will go for that as little as $1000, although that one looks pretty beat up.

Here's mine. The one with no one standing with it second from the front.

There were only 100 made (one production run). One seems to come up for sale about once a year. Although, sometimes years go by without one coming up for sale.

Here's an image taken with and the F-1.7x AF Adaptor (510mm, ƒ4.5) on the K-3

It's one of those lenses where if you review it and don't rate it a 10, there's something wrong with you.

You can read my full review here.

The detail on the bird is nuts. What a beast. You have been lucky to get it for that price.

Despite the fact that the model name is "60EP", it does not share the optics of the fairly common Adaptall-2 60B, but rather the rarer (and slightly improved) 360B.

I notice that the seller has several other Pentax items too, including severl film cameras and a mock up K-01.

Sigma and Tamron sharing a design is as far as I know not a thing.
Please elaborate. I'm not saying it's not true, just wondering why you think that.

Not likely to be similar optical formula.
