Pentax Australia deals on superseded models - K-50, K-S2 & K-3ii

Sale of some long-superseded cameras. All new, but on backorder.

These are listed as due 12 April 2021:
- K-50 body only (white) - $499
- K-50 (black) + 18-55WR - $499
- K-50 (black) + twin lens kit - $599
- K-S2 (orange & black) "WZOOM Kit OTH" (I take this to mean it is in a kit with the 18-50 WR, as pictured, but check first) - $599
- K-3ii + DA 16-85 - $999 [Edit: as at 4 March - the day after this post - this offer has now gone]

This is listed on backorder but with no specified due date:
- K-50 (black) + DA 18-135 - $649

Free delivery with each. All with genuine warranty.

I've just ordered the K-3ii kit - really for the lens. The DA 16-85 goes for around $800 on sale at dcxpert on ebay. I think I will sell either the K-3ii or my old K-S2.

The K-50 kit with the DA 18-135 isn't a bad deal either (assuming it really is available), when you consider that the best price on the lens alone new is over $670 at dcxpert. In a kit with a K-70, the lens is effectively $450 (ie the difference from the body-only price). Pentax Australia has the 18-135 listed (on backorder with no specified ETA) for an eye-watering $839. Imagine you could get it for $190 less from the same supplier with a K-50 thrown in as well!

I have a K-S2 and it is a very good, if underrated, camera. The 20mp sensor is a gem and it has a flippy screen, wi-fi and other features. It was a significant upgrade from my old K-30. At this price it is a good budget alternative to a K-70, with the security of a warranty (useful in case the solenoid fails).

Of course, it remains to be seen whether the shipment arrives by 12 April. Will keep you posted.

If the K3 11 has been off the website in Aus for over 6 months why would you expect some to magically appear ?

Because CRK said they would Dave! I don't doubt that they were expecting to get some (at least three it seems) but Ricoh have pulled the rug out. My guess FWIW (which is not much) is that Ricoh's inventory showed a few old stock K-3ii + 16-85 kits (with Aus charger plugs) in the warehouse, but when they got the forklifts out and moved some boxes they weren't there.

Remains to be seen whether any of the other offered items disappear in the same way.

With just in time and barcoding you know exactly how and where stock is at all times.
They ( CRK ) are first cab of the rank in that regard

K-S2 is probably a risk I think (could be months, or may be cancelled if CRK can't get them). That 18-135mm seems capable of some nice shots going by some of those in these forums.

So cheap for what they are.

Thanks! Premium. With the discount and the fact that I had some money from a refund on a faulty product, I decided to get the extras as well.

Might have been a mistake or limited supplies only, but the offers seem to have gone now, Damien. Regular price will be $A2800, body only. Ouch. You would expect to see some deals by later in the year.
