Mmmmm, a silver 20 - 40 for just over 700 bucks. Tempting.

I saw that Crab. I also have a Sony A7ii, and a couple of those $400 lenses are teasing me, Samyang 85mm f1.4 for example.

I was just rummaging through the specials and they have a MindShift Gear rotation180° Panorama Backpack (Tahoe Blue) for just $84. I bought the grey version back in 2019 and it cost me over $300 so that's quite a saving. I used it in Tassie recently and it works very, very well with just a couple of small quirks (none of which would stop me recommending it).

So if someone needs a great backpack for combining hiking and photography....there's a bargain to be had.

I was auto-corrected from your handle to Crab, sorry it was not my doing.

I thought that you decided the 20-40 underperforms the 16-85 after your Tassie experience?

The silver 20-40 is tempting for me to use on my silver+black K-01, but the early reviews questioned the image quality, and I have the five Limited primes (15, 21, 35, 40 and 70). I could probably do almost everything the 20-40 could, by sticking with the 35mm and walking a bit further to frame shots.

The 16 - 85 is certainly a more than capable lens and it'll be one of two that I take on any future holidays (along with the 55 - 300), but I think the 20 - 40 is too nice to sit on my desk as a paperweight without getting an estimate of how much it will cost to get repaired. I've also got the other Limiteds but I can't bear the thought of a Limited sitting unrepaired without giving it a second chance. I bought it secondhand for about half the new cost so I've got a bit of leeway with potential repair costs. I'm hoping to take it to CRK tomorrow if we get out of lockdown later today.

When I first checked out the link I wondered what the excitement was about, prices were high. Then I realized where this was at, Australia.
