There's a fairly low priced (at least as they go on ebay these days, and at least when converted to US$) K 28/2 listed for auction from an Australian seller. Auction ends tonight/today (<5 hours from now as I post this), and currently has no bids at AU$900.
It does mention a small mark on the rear element, but nothing I can see in the picture.

Just editing to add I don't know/ have any connection to the seller, or know anything particular about this item. And I won't be bidding on this one.

hi, nice item but honestly doesn't worth more than 150usd.
owned it for a couple of months so i could compare it with the cheap sony fe 28mm f2.
the sony is better in all aspects.
there's nothing crazy about the lens today, maybe at that time used on old non af dslr it was great. I paid 100€ for it, i wouldn't pay more, i sold it back for the same price.
my advice, wait for a better priced one..

If you paid that much for it I suspect you got the later SMCP-M 28mm f/2 which is a drastically different optical design compared to the SMCP-K 28mm f/2 "hollywood", which is an early Zeiss distagon clone of a cine lens and has quite a good reputation on here.

I wonder if anyone did a comparative test of the SMCP-K 28mm f/2 "hollywood" against the CZ Distagon 28mm f2? Any hint....

Years ago I recall there was such a test, on the early internet. The test also included the Cine lens the design of the SMCP-K 28mm f/2 "hollywood" was derived, the biggest difference between them was a slightly cooler colour balance to the Zeiss T* lens apparently.

Anyone ever compare the K28/2 to the Vivitar Series 1 28/1.9 VMC lens? There was one on shopgoodwill.com with an MX last week that sold for about $125 that I was thinking about bidding on but failed to do so with it ending on a Friday evening.

Guys, the K2/28 is a well documented and quite special lens. It is not sharper or more flare resistant than today’s mainstream glass, but properly applied, it draws very nicely and feels great. The K2/28 is a CZ design. The modern CZ has new coatings, …, but does not draw the same way.

Thank you for that info! I've always wondered the same, but always forgot to ask when the topic of "The Hollywood" came up. Because the lens design is nearly the same, it seems that only the coatings would make a difference. However, it is nice to have that concept confirmed.

Digging through my internet archive, I will also mention there was also a slight* difference in optical qualities when comparing the older lenses to the newer Zeiss distagon, the reviewer correctly connected this difference to the fact that the modern Carl Zeiss lens was not using leaded glass in its optical construction.

* the differences were difficult to quantify but the newer lens did exhibit subtle changes in bokeh and fringing characteristics, but the differences were not enough to give the newer lens any particular advantage over the older designs.
