BUYER BEWARE

I'm 90% sure this is the same one I've bought and returned twice. The focus ring is jammed past infinity.

The first time I bought it (1st week of December '21), I returned it with plenty of documentation about what needs to be fixed.

A few weeks later (2nd week of Jan '22), another one was listed. I bought that one.
It was the exact. same. lens. Same serial number.
Nothing had been fixed. In fact, I recognized the packaging materials. The box was opened and re-taped to confirm contents, but just repackaged without an ounce of effort into actually fixing what was wrong with it.

I returned that one about a month ago.

If the buyer reads here, prepare to be VERY disappointed.

Urk - that's a bummer. I suppose the return policy is favorable, but the ability to see before you try is problematic as you note above.

Well I'm that buyer, purchase within 10 minutes after zzaletel mentioned it. By the way, thanks for watching out for deals like these whether this one works out or not.

It won't be the first time I've been disappointed if it's "that lens" so I'm well prepared. You don't happen to still have the serial number do you?

Oh dang, sorry you've got stories like that on bad buys. I'm a firm believer in tempering of expectations though. I hope very much for your sake that this is a different copy.

Sure do on that SN, it's 9487124 (I already listed this one in the serial # database in case it's out in the wild somewhere else).

If it helps (and it won't), I'm likewise waiting for an 11-18 that showed up last Friday at the warehouse for about $540 that was a 'go broke saving money' sort of option. Will see what it looks like when it arrives this Friday. On a positive note, Uncle Vanya had good experience with the 11-18 he'd purchased from warehouse back in October.

Both times it was an Amazon Warehouse deal, sold by Amazon.
First time listed as "Used - Acceptable" condition.
Second time re-listed as "Used - Very Good" condition.
