I knew of the recent price reduction now at $1,697- some $300 USD off the original price for the body only, but now I just saw B&H offering that deal for a nifty silver version WITH a free battery grip! The battery grip for the KP was criticized for being priced so high at around $200 USD, but that of the K-3 III is close to $300 USD! This deal is then quite a savings for those interested.

Well, this is good news! Good advice for those excellent lenses too. For school sports, depending, the DA 55-300mm PLM might be a useful addition as well. Also, in less light without flash, the DFA 70-200mm f/2.8 might be of interest for her. When it comes to that kind of thing, especially indoors, I have always tried to use flash whenever practical and permitted, Usually, the lighting coming mainly from the ceiling tends to create downward shadows, where some fill can be very useful. It seems she's already had experience and knows about this.

Well gosh by golly, a 15-year long Canon user just came over to Pentax!

She was waiting to see what Canon was announcing yesterday, but came away unimpressed. She called to tell me she was ordering the K3III, and the three lenses I recommended for her. All thanks to borrowing my lowly K-70 and realizing how nice a Pentax is to use and the performance even the cheapest one brings to the table.
