You know, with the advent of the K-x, it strikes me that this thread is unfair to other cameras
Crazy high ISO shots with this thing!
I wouldn't have gotten the Tamron 500mm mirror lens if I didn't have the K-x high ISO to help me with shutter speeds, cause shooting with the 2X converter at 1000mm I can't afford to drop the ISO to something the K10d would have needed.
Children's moon, 1000mm, iso 128,000, 1/320th, hand held, almost no PP. A wee bit glow-y from the hand held, but I'm amazed I got the shot at all, as it was late evening
Same evening, 1000mm, iso 6400, 1/4000th, hand held. This photo is processed a bit more, primarily for contrast and color. Mark Sabatella said it well on page 1 of the thread -
I suppose some would want to see "direct from the camera" results only, but frankly, I don't care so much about that - I care about what results are *possible*, not just what results are *automatic*. I'm happy to bring the most out of a photo in PP that I can - if the digital information is in there, it's real
