Sydney meet with overseas Pentax user

Hi folks,

I have posted this on DP Review as well, but there will be a Pentax meeting in Sydney for a DP Review member SpaceDoc - Christian from the Netherlands - on Saturday the 11th May. We will do a tour around Sydney to show him the sites, have lunch and take photos.

It would be great to have anyone from Pentax Forums to come along and enjoy a hopefully great day and help show Christian a good Aussie time.

That sounds like fun Lance, I wish that I could make it.

I've got to make it over to Australia some day. It looks so beautiful there.

Stu,

If you ever make it here, look me up as I would be more than happy to show you around.

Gotta check my roster for this one ... I'd love to attend though.
I need to get out more with the camera gear.

Anywhere in particular you were thinking of meeting????

EDIT: OK ... I have that weekend off from work ... will need to check with the other diary (wife) to see if there is anything else happening family-wise.

Great to hear, Simon! I look forward to meeting up with you.

We are more than likely going to meet up at Circular Quay at maybe 8am or 9am(to be confirmed). Possibilites for our day may be:
We will probably go to the South Pylon of the Sydney Harbour Bridge for some Sydney vista shots, then around to the Opera House and maybe the Botanical Gardens. Maybe come back to Circular Quay and catch the ferry to Watson's Bay for lunch, then to South Head. If there is time we may catch a ferry to the North side of the Harbour and then back to Circular Quay.

There will have to be a consensus of course, but this seems a pretty good plan.

Sounds like it will be a big day out.
Fingers Crossed for the weather as well.

Will do my best ... just need to sort out parking and leaving the car somewhere for the day too (no public transport out my way so i'd have to drive in).

Where are you coming from?

I will be driving in, too, so maybe we can meet up and I will drive in if you like.

i am coming in from the Hawkesbury area (if i can make it in)
I don't mind driving really ... it's a shame loading zones are only a 30 minute limit (as I am a part time courier )

OK ... just to clear something up.

Saturday is the 10th of May
Sunday is the 11th of May (Mother's Day).

Thought I'd mention it as I told the wife about the "meet" on the 11th ... her response was that it was Mother's Day ... bugger. I checked the thread this morning (and my roster again) ... and realised the date difference.

Hope this clears everything up for everyone.

Oops, my bad.

Yes, it is Saturday the 10th, not the 11th.

Don't worry Kristine ... I didn't make the Dressage ... Bec was getting sick throughout the day and wasn't up for making it to SIEC.

Although a friend of ours said it was that packed you couldn't move ... no seating available as it was all booked out. Apparently parking was all the way back out to Wallgrove Rd (That's a long way back up the main driveway.)

I missed it ... but still ... I doubt I would have gotten many shots due to the amount of people
