The newer f/3.5 version seems to have some optical advantages as well. The test isn't comprehensive and doesn't, for example, reveal that the old f/4-5.6 had less CA. I'd love to have either, though.

A few from the holiday to Dunedin and Wanaka area-

It actually got quite hot in Dunedin:

Some cool clouds over Wanaka:

The bach at Albert Town on the bank of the Clutha River:

And the view from the bach:

Went for a walk:

A small mountain we saw:

And home via the train from Chch to Picton:

The train trip was great as I didn't have to drive!

For you Wellingtonians, there is now a K-7 in the WPS store near the corner of Kent and Vivian streets.

Ah, finally!

Might make it difficult for them to sell their $3999 K20D, if they still got it.

Any Wellingtononian been to the Botanic Garden music series yet? I went yesterday and it was great.

I rented a helicopter to get this shot and it took a while until the audience stopped staring at me and looked back to the stage again. Or I might have just gone to the tree house. Either of the two.

Lot's of funky lights, so I got some interesting shots.

Will strive to go again tonight but probably the family will also come along this time, so I probably won't be able to shoot again.

P.S.: I processed this shot in Lightroom on a different laptop. Boy does it look different than this (on my std laptop), in particular the colours differ quite a lot. I can see why colour management is a must in a professional context.

I'm currently playing with the Lightroom 3 beta version and quite like it. Definitely a step up from Picasa.

Is $ 177 a good price for the older Lightroom 2 version?

Thanks for sharing these!
You've got some very saturated colours there... Looks like the "bright" JPEG setting or something. In particular the blues seem too blue to be true.

Nah - all raw. I don't think I tweaked the saturation, but may have. The river sure looked good though, and it was difficult not to just watch it all the time.

Don't know about lightroom.
