New sponsor: Naneu, a travel and camera backpack company

Thought I'd pass a nice development along: I'm on board with a travel backpack/camera bag company now.

That section or pool of photographers is known as Friends of Naneu: http://naneupro.com/friends.mdv?a=marc

Naneu Pro designs and sells travel/camera backpacks, laptop bags, I bought a travel backpack from them after discussing a specific backpack with a pro shooter and his recommendations. They brought me on board after reviewing my images and blog - Naneu Pro picked me up so to speak! I'm also involved in testing/reviewing their gear and am now part of the Product Development team for improving current gear during the design cycle and beta testing gear not on the market yet. Rest assured that they are happy a taller photographer is on board (I'm 6' 3" tall) for designs, etc.

They don't make gear for everything I use: for example that 12.75 pound super telephoto lens I just bought - a special backpack setup is often needed to hike with a long/heavy lens, so I'll go with another supplier. They understand that need and encourage my use of another manufacturer's product. On the other hand I'm in direct contact with Bombardier Aerospace division to confirm CRJ overhead luggage bin dimensions so future products are carry on compatible with regional jets. This information is passed on to Naneu in the hopes of incorporating into future product development. One example of working with the company and airline manufacturers to improve things and protect our gear while flying - hopefully for future products.

If interested in any of their products, please send me a note and I'll do my best to answer any questions, etc. I'll be testing and reviewing equipment, specifically the K4L and Sahara 217F backpacks in the near future.

Regards,
Marc

Thanks Ash and they do make great stuff. I was in contact with them via Kerrick James and his input convinced me that it was time to buy a K4L - I am glad I did!

Thank you Arpe - it's nice to have input options when they need it!

The offer for a second cap is still there...

Congrats Marc!
They're making super high quality products - limited lifetime warranty like Lowepro. What I like is that both they and Wimberley want product feedback.

The owners at Wimberley are especially interested because I am a Pentax shooter. I know that sounds strange, but it's because my gear choice is an anomaly amongst most nature photographers. That's the draw for them.

Thank you Frank! I am hoping the stars are aligning a little better these days. At least they asked me to come on board before I got the 250-600/5.6, so I know it's not because of the lens...

I use the K2L - I like it a lot for backpacking and carrying tripod and all. Very comfortable for long hikes

Thank you Peter and I'm still waiting for next year! More good news is on the horizon, but any announcement is premature.

Marc

Congratulations Marc, well done.

The Naneu you had on the workshop is certainly a very nice bag and very practical as well. The harness was top notch and the personal storage area was big enough to travel with.

I would certainly give it a big tick from what I saw.....even if I am a Delsey fan.

Cheers

Rhizo, please send me a note if you decide to buy, before you buy...

The shot was taken during the second workshop by David Black after showing him what a huge difference a CPL can make - even in a slot canyon.

Regards,
Marc
