Nice to give the K-5 a run at iso80, very seldom use it, normally throw it up to 400 or someit

Apparently. I just saw it so thought I'd pass it on. I really don't know whether that's any good or not. I guess not!

Yet another giveaway: Does anyone want a hard plastic SD card case? Holds 6, clips shut. Vaguely like this, but 3 each side and the cards are round the other way.:

110x74x19mm by my ruler. White with brand name on it "King Best".
You can have it for the price of the postage. First in gets it.

I could hardly believe the depth of blue in some of you Kiwi guys' shots - however having been here for nearly 2 weeks I realise it's for real ! Amazing, it must be that same lack of ozone that's burning my skin from the bone !

I just can't keep up with the PP though. Too much to do / see ! Here's some of the 46 species so far :

NZ Dotterel* (flock of 30 in Waitangi and 1 in Tauranga).
NZ Green Pigeon
Caspian Tern
Blue Penguin
Eastern Rosella
Goldfinch
Greenfinch
NZ Scaup
Pacific Black Duck*
Grey Duck*
Sacred Kingfisher
Spur Winged Plover &
5 species of Cormorants (Shags).

* 'big' birds

We should have warned you - make sure you are wearing sunblock when out and about here in NZ, and a hat. The sun does burn very quickly - and fried Frog is probably not where you want to be...Pleased you are seeing plenty of birds - it has been one of the hottest driest summers here in years, so you have picked a good one

Yeah I was a bit worried those beach shots looked rediculous but it really did look like that

It's funny, I remember posting a scenic shot here of the Clutha River, and someone asking if I hadn't overdone the saturation slider. I went back to my raw file and saw that I hadn't touched that slider at all! The blue skies we've been having of late also help out with the blue reflections.

I have had similar instances where some, online, have suggested I have cranked up the greens. I guess we just don't know how lucky we are. We don't realize how propitious are our circumstances.
