Any ideas what mm lens was used? Quite a shot for 1.5 miles away.

Take a look at the article link. Shouldn't be too hard to reference the lens to the Canon website.

Is that really being helpful?
You want me to just look at the lens in the image and compare it against other images of Canon lenses?
Really?

That lens looks bigger than my Cannon 400mm.

Looks like a non-IS 400/2.8 to me. Judging by length of the rig, I would say there is at least one teleconverter involved.

Other people seem to be managing.

I certainly have done that in the past and found the lens being used, but I certainly wasn't going to do it for you.

If you want to know something enough to ask for it on a public forum, maybe you can put in a little effort yourself?

Boy you are special!
Oh, how I am in awe of your special lens recognition Troll powers.

And by managing, you mean guessing and not being very certain?
Yeah, just keep impressing us with your secret knowledge.

Did you even bother looking at the link? It's not as if she (you probably don't even know it's a she...) is using a nondescript lens. It's one of the larger hongking white L glass lenses.

A simple look on the Canon website would probably identify it in short order.

But you'd rather complain about your lack of intelligence. Sorry about that.
