Dating site run by mathematicians analyzes EXIF data

OkCupid is a dating site run by former math students. They like to collect data from the site, and present interesting analyses on their blog. Today, they did one analyzing EXIF data.

link: Don’t Be Ugly By Accident! OkTrends

The results? Nothing too shocking: Take pictures with a good camera at a low aperture in good light and don't use the onboard flash.

According to this graph, Panasonic > Canon > Pentax > Nikon for taking hot pictures.

So I guess Pentax shooters and their subjects are all too ugly to graph?

Tell me what you want to prove, and if I can't graph it in your favor, I'll buy you a set of Ltd's. LOL!
Regards!

???

We're right there, snuggled between Canon and Nikon.

And I'm not trying to prove anything, I just thought the data was interesting (I basically do statistical analysis for a living). Not sure why the Panasonic would be *so* much higher than everything else. Anybody got any ideas?

As former math students, they are all undoubtedly geeks who have yet to see a girl nekkid... They probably ran across a trove of "nekkid girl shot with a Panasonic 4/3s camera" shots which biased their evaluation.

It looks they would pair two pictures up and people would select which one they found more attractive. With 552,000 pictures evaluated, it sounds like this would be very, very time consuming

It was actually somewhat entertaining to click the link the OP posted and read about what they did and their "results'.

Very interesting analysis they've put together there. I thought the attractiveness by time of day was the most interesting bit.

Not all of us are socially inept geeks.

Some of us get more ass than a toilet seat.

One of the spoils of applying yourself whilst in school and graduating with highly marketable skills.

Statistically speaking, girls are prudish during HS and college and more adventurous once they enter the real world. When they enter the real world they are more interested in finding stability and are smart enough to recognize someone who will be a breadwinner vs. someone who will be a loafer.

By golly, you are right, right there as you said. I am always amazed at what I can see when I just open my eyes instead of my mouth!!
Best Regards!

But in the headline for the graph: "1. Panasonic > Canon > Nikon."
