What can a first generation DSLR and a 40 yr old lens do?

As the title suggests I took my istD and a few super taks to see a friends R&B band at their first gig

Stage lighting is definitely not your friend

Have you used manual focus lenses before in low lighting?

I just started using M series manual lenses and found that wide open, getting the focus right is extremely difficult without a pentaprism in the viewfinder. I always manage to focus either on the foreground or the background on my K-x, but I get it right with the pentaprism in my ME Super's viewfinder.

What lenses did you use, too?

I have used mf in low light since the 1980's with my kx and 50mm F1.4 while shooting tri-x 400 pushed to 3200

I primarily used my super tak 85 F1.9 and 50mm F1.4 also occasionally a 105 mm F 2.8 Vernon Edonar preset

I have a dual diagonal split image focusing screen in my *istD
