Going Travelling!!!! Part 1 Locations!

I'm going on a big trip with my Wife and two Pentax Cameras (K7+Kx)-Singapore-London-LA-San Francisco

I'll be spending most of the time in Sinapore and San francisco a week each.
Any great location suggestions?

I've covered Sentosa and Singapore zoo before although that was with a Superzoom camera:ugh:

Try Alcatraz in SF. Old, eerie buildings with a fast fifty will do nicely. The ferry ride will surprisingly give great opportunities for action shots of wind surfers. Try Golden Gate Bridge as seen from Sausolito. Since you have a week maybe drive out to Sonoma for wine country and stop by Muir Woods for the tallest redwood forest

Treasure Island - it is an island out in San Francisco Bay that the Oakland Bay bridge runs through. Great location for night shots of the city.Golden Gate Bridge - From the north end, there are lots of photo opportunities...

Alcatraz, GG Bridge / Park, Twin Peaks, Chinatown, Haight Street, Fisherman's Wharf / Ghirardeli Square / Cannery, Lombard Street, Cliff house / Land's End, the Ferry Building, Coit Tower -- these are all photon depletion zones, whose light has been captured and transported by untold zillions of cameras.

You want something different? The only cemetery within The City is the pet cemetery on the Presidio. The best way to see The City is by bicycling all over its 49 square miles. The best overview is the Bay Model in Sausalito. The best nearby redwood grove is Armstrong Redwoods Park above Guerneville on the Russian River, Sonoma County -- and stop at all the wineries on Westside Road. Don't miss the beaches from Jenner (mouth of the Russian River) down to Pacifica. Drive atop the Oakland Hills in early morning to watch the full moon set into the GG Bridge.

BTW, I can't stomach the vibes at Alcatraz -- old prisons reek of pain and despair.

Ah, the East Bay. Chabot Observatory, Lake Merritt (Oakland), the Berzerkley street scene, Oakland Museum, Mt Diablo -- and your friends may have some suggestions too. Enjoy!

Depend when you last visited Singapore.
You should revisit Sentosa, there are lots of changes since the coming to 'Resort World Sentosa' .... casino and Universal Studio

Others places might be of interest

Night Safari, if you have done the zoo but not the night safari, something might worth doing once

If you are into birds ... there are the ' Sungai Buloh Wetland reserved ', thou its toward the end of the migratory season now
Or Jurong Bird Park - bird in captive

Parks for casual strolling ....
Singapore Botanical Garden
Lakeside & Chinese Garden

For the more adventurous
Pulau Ubin - a layback and rustic island
Little India esp on a Saturday night (be warned)

Enjoy your visit

Cool, havent been for 4 years, last time was on our honeymoon.
That birdpark sounds wicked, all the more reason to grab a new 55-300 before I go.
