Hey buddy, great shot of the '70 Boss 302. I bought a new Mach I in '69 and drove it for a couple of years before committing the heresy of buying a Camaro .
Thanks, Jer. The guy also has a 68 or 69 Camaro that he's rebuilding. He believes in being multicultural

Thanks Richard and Wayne.

This was my first Legends event and I almost didn't go. I finished working around the house later than expected, and that was gonna cause me to miss both rounds of daylight match racing. But I figured what the heck, I might as well go, catch the classics show, and see what I can do when the racing starts. It was about dusk when the final round of match racing began. So all of the racing shots where taken while sitting in the bleachers, using my knees and elbows as a tripod (quadpod??). I'm actually surprised I was able to get more that a couple decent race shots given that most were taken between 1/15 and 1/8 shutter speed.

The bottom line is I had a blast. Several cars of the cars in attendance were familiar to me. I had watched them at Capital Raceway in 1965. Daddy Warbucks and Bounty Hunters were two of them. Back then my father raced a '65 Plymouth Vailant, six cylinder. His class was M/S (M stock), and best time was 17.0 seconds at about 80 mph. Seems almost funny looking back, but he won thirteen trophies with that car. Ah, the good ol' days.

OK, it's not a car but should appeal to gearheads - an early (1911, I think) aircraft engine:

The engine of the 1909 Alco "Black Beast" which won 2 Vanderbilt cup races and participated in the first Indy 500. This is a running car and not a museum piece, by the way. The owner gives rides in it:

Sweet! I always thought something like that in an '86 Chevy Cavalier would be kinda cool, switching it to rear-wheel drive of course.

Here's another series from MIR Legends...

Not sure what these types of rods are called, but "Mad Max" seems to fit.

No idea, what this is, but the rust, the stance, and headers called me in...

and ya gotta love the grill and turn signals.

Apparently this Dodge was in a hurry after filling up.

And if you want your own, here's a candidate...
