Pentax-o'-Lantern: An Incredibly Detailed Halloween Camera Pumpkin

"This pumpkin was carved by Michael MacMurchy who is a former photography student from Sheridan College in Oakville, ON, Canada. Michael carved this pumpkin for his girlfriend Kylie and his girlfriends father Stephen who is a Sales Representative for Pentax Ricoh Imaging Canada Inc. The carving on the front of the pumpkin is the new Pentax K5 II. Michael also carved the back of the pumpkin so that it would project the words PENTAX onto the back wall."

Part of me wishes this was a fake as it makes my own pumpkin carving attempts look like they were done by a 3 year old, but I think we just have to accept that he has way more skill and devotion to pumpkin carving than most of us ever will.

He has a deviant art page with a few more pumpkins from over the years fredfunkey's deviantART gallery Gallery of more pumpkins: Artisan Crafts by fredfunkey on deviantART He uses a light bulb for the interior and said on one of them that a dremel was the main tool for the carving.

The light bulb gives a much nicer illumination then a candle, but is perhaps a little less exciting then camping stove fuel (recklessness is the poor man's substitute for creative skill):
