Help! All you bug experts.........

I discovered several of these on a rose bush in my front yard today. I think they're Primroses, but I don't know for sure. Anyway, the largest specimen is about 3/8" and all others I've seen are about 1/4"-give or take. I can't find anything about them , but I've found a few pictures from other people asking the same question as me.

By the way, photo taken with K100D, SMC PENTAX-M 100mm f/4 Macro.

I Believe they are Katydid Nymphs.... and a good shot too...

They turn into those big green winged Katydids... but they look the best in this stage... we have little brown ones and also the neon green ones....

That's awesome... looks like a mini grashopper ... Katydid sounds about right.

Here's something I found on a rose, what is this? (Sorry to hijack)

No idea on the bug but figured I would help on identifying a "primrose"...

Nice capture on the critter none the less.

Nester, I'm going to go out on a limb (pun intended) and say you have a lovely picture of an aphid. The pear shape and the tubes sticking out of his butt are my best clues.

I'll second that. It is definitely an aphid. Suggest spraying, Water with detergent added can help, otherwise a spray specific for that purpose.. Aphids can stunt the flowering of your rose, bigtime.
