Originally posted by vonBaloney I hear a lot of complaints about the supposed big focus points, but as long as there is sufficient light (I don't have the fastest AF lenses) I rarely have trouble autofocusing on a little twig or whatever tiny point I want to, at least with the center point.
I find - with my k-x - that I can do the same, but I just gotta "tweak" what the camera is looking at exactly.
It doesn't seem too bad - but I was amazed that my k-x could actually select the purple flower I wanted instead of racking back and forth (the front was actually a lot of leaves, it's the DOF that makes them practically disappear).
When trying to shoot it, I realized that moving my center point slightly, it would help a lot in figuring out what it was looking for.
When shooting under pressure, this can be detrimental. But it's worked for me most of the time.
