Only had 10 mins. today to take photos with the CZJ Pancolar, and 90% were not flowers, but when I looked at the results later this snap stood out for its simplicity on a complicated day....

Had a few minutes between tidying garden and collecting grandson so made use of being outside to snap a flower from the garden.

So there I was photographing some flowers when along came some bumbling bees- a black and white one, and a yellow and black one. Heavy crop on this one. A less severe crop also posted on the Flickr page. K-30, with Rikenon 50mm F/2 Lens coupled with a x2 Teleconverter.

I'm not sure I succeeded it my goal for this shot. This is part of one of the larger cemetery complexes in NYC. There are actually 5 large cemeteries adjacent to each other in the Throgs Neck section of the Bronx. What I was trying to capture was the immense sea of small headstones in this one section. The second shot I took to show how over the decades (this cemetery opened in the early 1900's) the continual frost/thaw cycles contributed to moving the headstones around. Most of the stones in this row are from the 40's and 50's.

Day 13 cloudy again today promises rain after sundown. Got the Raynox stuck to the 50mm and found this bud. And that's how it is growing, sideways.

Got to do some photography for work.

My goodness, CIF is both good and bad. Had it fairly wide open and focus was missed (on other things) so many times. It would press down when something is in focus, but you have to be careful - as sometimes it's hard to tell. I guess that's where the on screen focus thingy comes into its own. Didn't realise until I had them blown up on the computer, and only got about 4 or 5 keepers out of maybe 20-30 shots. Sheesh.
