So, spares. Extra photos from the Pentacon 3.5/30 that I posted but that I didn't use.

Starting here, with an extra from the 13th:



I'd already posted a safety earlier because I expected not to be able to take any photos due to illness. Instead, I took one photo after I had already posted. Since I don't feel like changing things, into the extras it goes.

Feb. 10th extra:

I decided to take a moon shot and see just what sort of resolving power this lens had. I didn't expect much, as it's only ever sharp in the centre and even then it has to be stopped down considerably. The result was about what I expected:

Feb 8th extras:

A local electronics and other miscellanea shop advertises via a mannequin in a gorilla suit. When it gets quite cold, they add a hat and scarf. I take pictures of it every now and then just to amuse myself:

Some extras from today. The local Sears store, which also happens to be Sears Canada's flagship and the location of their head office, is closing its doors in a week and is currently in the process of selling off everything. (Including store fixtures.)

These were taken while taking a shortcut through it. As can be seen, pickings are sparse.

A pair of extras from shooting sunsets yesterday. The first is what tipped me off to the sunset, as thanks to some mist you could see in the air itself where objects blocked the rays and cast shadows.




The second is two shots, taken within fractions of a second of each other, and the differences caused by a bus blocking the sun. (Av mode, so the camera automatically compensated in the second shot.)

Extras from the 17th. My theme of the day was objects, it seems. If you pixel peep on the blue rope in the first one you can see one of the more annoying habits of this lens: when wide open, even the sharpest of in-focus objects tends to have a ghostly halo near them.

Some more extras. As wolfiegirl noted, these would have looked much better with a plain black background. Unfortunately, in some cases you have to make do with what's available.

A pair of older extras that I only posted yesterday. The first has had the blues increased a little, but not all that much vs. the original:




The second is shot through a window into a store that was being packed up, hence the light streak near the middle (a reflection off the glass):

Something I've noticed is that, if I want something on the left to be in focus, it's better to use live view and focus peaking rather than focusing and recomposing through the viewfinder. Practically guaranteed that anything in the centre at the same distance as the blue balloon wouldn't have been in focus here.
