In August I had the pleasure of guiding a canoe trip in Algonquin Park. As the guide I knew I would be too busy to focus on photography so I only brought my K-5 and all-purpose Sigma 18 - 250 f/3.5 macro lens and a light weight tripod. I finally got around to processing the trip photos and I am delighted with the results from this lens.
Here's my "trip report" ... thanks for looking
On board for the trip - Nic and Tim from England
and Amy from Toronto
Leaving civilization behind
We were out for 5 nights 6 days, each bringing its own special beauty. While I didn't get a lot of photos on the days we moved, I made up for it on our rest day.
Paddling as the sun began to set. What an amazing experience.
I woke early and was awarded with a beautiful misty morning
A day paddle though rivers bogged down by water lilies
The promise of another gorgeous sunset on the way...

Back home way too soon

Gorgeous photos, Tess! I'm terribly jealous, but I know the lakes and sunsets will be there for a long time to come...
I really love the mass of colorful lilypads - looks like stained glass! Will you be making prints?

Hi Mark! Thanks for stopping by and for the nice comments. How about a family trip with us next summer? I would love that!
I have promised myself to start printing favourite shots so they don't end up buried in the computer forevermore. I have a big black portfolio photo book I bought at Henry's specifically for that purpose. And, we just bought new ink for the printer so I have no excuses. I think that lily pad image would look cool printed.

Hi Tess,
Very nice record of your trip. The blue/purple flower looks at first glance to be a fringed orchis. I will see if I can identify it from one of my flower books.

Based on a detailed description in my 'Canadian Wildflowers Through the Seasons', it appears to be Pickerel Weed, not
Fringed Orchis.

Hello Tess, I just revisited your trip posting for another look and love the selected views you included and color rendition the new Sigma lens.
Glad you included the arrow/heart shaped leaves in the Pickerel Weed image as it helps with positive identification. Loved by fish (hence it's name), deer and other aquatic creatures it flowers between June and November.
Agree with you and Mark entirely, some photos should be printed and framed the old fashioned way for others to admire & maybe purchase!

I keep coming back to your Clydegale Lake Lake pics as you have captured the real essence of the park and what it means to those who have visited,
