Hello fellow Pentax shooters. The economy hasn't just effected me, but a lot of others during this recession. I hope each of you are doing well in our great state.
At work our office is entirely funded by grants. After nearly five years of working for the Utah Department of Public Safety some grants have been eliminated and other funding reduced. In an office of only about 15 people they have already let two positions go. They are eliminating more and mine is up next. In an attempt to expand my network I'm asking for your help in finding employment.
I've been lucky enough to have a full-time day job where I've been working just three days a week, with one of those working from home. I took nearly two months off this last summer and have been spoiled, allowing me to work on photography and other projects around the house and yard. Now it's time to get a "real job" and I'm ready to go. I currently run a number of PR campaigns, including the state's motorcycle safety program. If any of you have seen these billboards below, they are mine:
My background is in public relations and communication. I'm a computer nerd, but I don't do IT or programming; instead graphic design and Web design comes much easier. I used to do marketing for a company owning six hospitals here in the state and loved it. I'm in the process of completing my MBA with an emphasis on healthcare management. Here's
my resume if any of you know someone looking or have opportunities at your place of employment.
Thank you.
Derek
p.s. - Clint, I'd buy your Sigma 180 if I wasn't losing my job!
