I say that if you have one, then try it out (and report back!)
The biggest challenge (I think) with a non-driven Dob will be getting it in the focuser without bumping things and actually getting the small object (like Jupiter or Saturn) in the frame.
It seems like a Flip Mirror would be handy, but not sure how well they would work on a Dob. Seems like you would have to have a lot of "IN" travel on your focuser to use one.
I saw a cool setup one time that used TWO diagnonals in a Dob. One shot out one focuser for visual use and a smaller one (set closer to the primary mirror, if memory serves) shot out a different angle and gave more distance to allow for photo usage. I'll have to see if I can find where in the world I found that. It would mean modifying your dob with a second spider/diagonal holder and focuser for photo use.
You might also look into buying or building a Dob equatorial platform (it is a low platform that is polar aligned and gives a couple of hours of tracking with your regular dob set on top of it).
