Hey guys!
Outside my new refractor from TS (910 mm TS 130/F7 triplet APO) ist waiting for the sun to go down to have its first light from Jupiter this evening. I have bought it with a 2,5" flattener and a 0.79x reducer. These two also fit to the small brother TS 80/480 triplet APO. I therefore can use
379 mm / F4.7
480 mm / F6.0
719 mm / F5.5
910 mm / F7.0
and with the 1.4 x TC I can extend to ca. 1275 mm at about F10 mm focal length for planets and the Moon.
It is a big and heavy beast and my hope to stay within the limits of "The Cube" was soon blown away. The front glasses are so heavy that the rear end gets very long when I balance the scope. I did not expect it to be so heavy and big, it is an artistic act to place it on the mount that is fixed on the balcony pile. I think I will need some time of aclimatisation after everything went so easy and smooth with the small 80/480 APO
.
But I am really exited and curious what this glass will deliver. My wife has baptized it "Gina" and suspects that I will spend a whole lot of nights with my new love
