So I've laid out how I'm going to do this - I think I'm going to have to go down the same route @Gimbal took and use a guiding camera - which it turns out is easier than I had expected (that is not to say it will be easy!).
Basic drive is running just now using the code provided in that
thingiverse project - but I will replace that code with my own in the near future.
So, the plan is to get it running as a manual tracker using a pendant controller - then add in the I
2C bus and the raspberry pi so I can control it remotely - and finally the guiding camera and LCD status display. If I then choose, I can add in (limited) control of the declination via a second motor driver on the I
2C bus.
So, I'll plod away in the background with that now that I've got a plan together and all the stuff I need to do it, and I'll show that off once I've made some headway.
In the meantime - I'm just waiting for a clear night - I still haven't had chance to give the EQ-1 a go with my camera yet! I seem to have trouble getting clear nights just now - but hey, that's Scotland for you - the weather is best described as "changing"
Just gotta take what you get when you get it!
