I worked my way up the macro lens food chain to near the very top and have enjoyed my Tokina AT-X 90mm f2.5 (with original case and 1:1 extender). This is not your usual Bokina, but the PK/A version which is so handy to use. It is in mint condition, optically, cosmetically and mechanically as it has gotten little use from me. I believe that the image below is the last time I had it on my camera.
The PK/A has two strikes against it. It is probably the rarest mount for this lens out there and also the highest in demand. Thus, it will cost you more than the Vivitar Series 1 version of the Bokina (which is also MUCH heavier) but similar in optical qualities. I'm going to be offering mine in Marketplace very soon. Both macro and nice-weather astrophotography will be resuming in the Northern Hemisphere soon!
I discovered that it was also an outstanding Astrophotography lens when I photographed Comet Lovejoy with it, back in 2015:
Just wondering if anyone else has had good experiences using MACRO lenses for Astrophotography?
