There was some great seeing this past week and I started my Fall/Winter goal of a good Andromeda stack from east coast US suburbia.

Here is a lightly cropped stack of 6 x 18s images. No flats, darks, or bias frames - I was so excited for the clear night that I didn't follow my flowchart. I'm still learning
Pentax K3-ii, 300mm DA* lens @ f/5.6 and ISO 1600. Astrotracer ON.
Stacked using Sequator and lovingly worked up in Lightroom v4 (I think it's time to upgrade).




There's slight star trailing at 18s, so I think my next effort will be at 16s for as many subs as I can get.
I had started the evening with a lot of subs at F4 and a longer exposure. I didn't think the tailing was bad, but I wasn't happy with the Sequator stacking outcome. By the time I had gotten to the f/5.6 part of the experiment, the humidity was coming up and seeing degraded quickly.

I'm encouraged by the product and think there's hope for a good outcome.

Thank you to Fenwoodian for the Benro geared tripod head. It made the effort way more efficient than my sunpack pistol grip head.

It looks good! You just need to add more seconds, I would stick to the 18sec but at f4 to get more light. You could try to use DSS (deep sky stacker), it might show a different result on your longer subs.
