Since we've been told to shelter in place and my work has put us on hold, I've got lots of time on my hands. It's been either too cloudy, rainy or windy (sometimes all 3) to do any new imaging so I decided to see if I could improve some of my old images. My first one was a reprocess of the area between the flame nebula and the great Orion Nebula and is located here:
I decided to reprocess some images Here's # 1 - Astrophotography - PentaxForums.com
For this 2nd exercise I chose an Image I was never quite happy with, a recent image of the Rosette Nebula. I'm still not completely happy. I have less noise and better detail, but less color. In this case I reprocessed without any flats and it seemed to help get rid of the gradients I had.
Here's the details and the images:
Pentax K-1
William Optics Whitecat 51
Optolong L-Enhance Pro
120x60 sec.
Processed in Sequator and Photoshop.
Topaz AI Noise for Noise reduction.
Reprocessed for the 2nd time
