I agree that that the 1970's Mustangs were bloated and over done, hardly the lean and muscular pony cars of 1964-1969. we'll not speak long of the Mustang II, though my roommate had a completely overhauled and race ready King Cobra II that was a beast on the quarter mile.
Since 2005 the Mustang line has gone from strength to strength, my 2008 model hearkens back to the beginning, and has the Bullitt cachet, but the 2010's were faster as stock, and the 2012 Boss is a track friendly performer, while the 2013's had a beefier but still pleasant style and amazing HP even as V-6 rentals. An acquaintance of mine owns a 2019 Bullitt, and it is pretty darn gorgeous. However, my wife told me to take care of my 2008 model, and enjoy it, because it is the only one she'll allow on our budget.
Life is too short to drive boring cars, and every time I turn the key in the ignition and run through the gears I feel like a kid with an E-Ticket to Disneyland. I am very pleased with it, even though I might sell it to fund my photography desires, or replace an HVAC unit or some other home ownership expense.
It is great to have a ready subject for a photo shoot, no matter the weather.
