2017 High Park Blossoms?

Clarkey Site Supporter	So, hopefully no snow this year (after May 15 events last year ). A cacophony of drones and faux-Leica camera phone shutters await. Forecast is looking like May 03-10 will be peak, and the last snow blast seems not to have damaged the blossoms. I'll propose May 07 (Sunday), 7AM at High Park near Grenadier Restaurant. Expressions of interest from anyone still living in the GTA? (we'll welcome others on a case by case basis)

Clarkey Site Supporter	So, apparently we are already at peak bloom. And we might have rain toward the end of the week, and almost certainly this weekend. 1. Maybe change the venue for something else on the 7th (maybe in TO central - suggestions welcome). 2. I'm not sure of my availability this weekend, but would others consider moving one week forward?

Any further thoughts? Is there any potential the posting of Toronto Pentaxians wanting to get together angers the weather gods? Heard the peach tree blossoms on the Niagara peninsula are abundant

Yeah I think we may as well throw in the towel on HP cherry blossoms this year.

I'm going to call it off for Sunday - but I am going to ask Panoguy to PM the group, and we can open a thread here with suggestions for places to go. Also to check out who is still actually local. Technically I am not currently a Pentaxian MightyMike also has a mixed group (which I occasionally join) who also may have some suggestions. Sorry folks!

Interestingly, we do have cherry blossoms in Niagara as of yesterday if anyone needs a cherry blossom fix. I live in Virgil, Niagara-on-the-Lake and see them in this area and St. Catharine's in-spite of the windy wet weather we have experienced recently. Waterfalls are at their best too, especially in the Welland area such as Morningstar Mill, which has the added attraction of the old Mennonite house, pump room and the grist mill (open to visitors three days a week with a local guide), plus the Bruce Trail. Lots of water flowing and much colour from various trees and shrubs.
